SARAH FREYTAG

HISTORY

The country of Topraka was once only preoccupied with music and art. There was nothing but sunlight and festivities. It all changed when at once the world went dark - eldritch horrors came from the darkness.

The ancient myths speak of a time before the Hunger. A time, when the sun always shone upon the people of Topraka. The people lived in buildings built by Asrasha, a creation deity, and clothes sewn by her. They sung and danced joyously, joined by Pavali. A bard deity bringing life and joy to the people. Asrasha created and Pavali sang life into her creations.

Peace ended suddenly when a solar eclipse cast everything into darkness. From the shadows came eldritch monsters. Incomprehensible shapes, and they all had the starry sky on their bodies. They were dripping with galaxies.

People sang of the monsters, of hope. But their songs did not save them. This black, shimmering liquid people called the HUNGER.

Asrasha fought the beasts, but even she is not immune to the HUNGER. She corrupted herself, succumbing to the Hunger. She isolated herself, scared of bringing the night back to the people.

The days returned, but they were interrupted by nights. Asrasha could not return to humanity, and so she set out to follow the night that passes over the land, hunting all the monsters she can find.

In the land of Topraka, orders of hunters were founded in the name of Asrasha. They swore off their emotions, swore off society, swore only to follow the hunt. They never learned of Asrashas fate. Believing they would find glory in battle.
