REMINDERS

Design isn't always easy!
Sometimes I feel stuck with no ideas. Other times I have too many and don’t know where to start. I tend to spend forever on projects. My perfectionism takes over, and it’s hard to know when something is done. Without deadlines, I’d probably never stop adjusting, fixing, rethinking.
So I started writing down a few rules – simple reminders that help me stay focused, let go when it’s time, and also take a moment to be proud of what I’ve already done. Because that’s just as important. Some of these rules are mine. Others are from great designers (so they must be worth something, right?).
01

WALK AWAY, THEN COME BACK

Wait a few days before deciding whether a peace is "great" or not. Drawing is hard and requires all your attention. Thinking about the merits of a piece is a waste of energy. You'll be a much better judge tomorrow. - Christoph Niemann

02

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

Some days, doubt will be loud. But you’ve come a long way. Trust your path, trust your hands. You’re exactly where you need to be.

03

MAKE BAD WORK

Not everything you create needs to be good. Sometimes, it won’t be. That’s okay. Every mistake teaches you something. Every failed attempt moves you forward. Keep going. That’s how you grow.

04

GET UNSTUCK

You’re not lazy — you’re empty. Step away without guilt. Let your senses fill up again. The solution will find you when you're not forcing it.

05

ASK OTHERS

You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Show your work. Start a conversation. Every opinion is a mirror — use it. Good design grows through exchange.

06

LETTING GO

Not every piece needs to be perfect. Let go before you ruin the magic. Trust that it’s enough — for now. You can always return, but first, release.
