face-off

This project presents a surreal triptych that explores inner conflict and fragmented identity. Each figure — a scarecrow-like woman, an armored knight with an eagle, and a unicorn-like horse impaled by a sword — symbolizes a different facet of the human psyche.

The scarecrow woman evokes vulnerability behind a constructed shell — part protector, part effigy — hinting at fear, performance, and emotional absence. The knight represents the controlled self: armored, disciplined, yet guided by instinct, as symbolized by the eagle. The pierced horse confronts sacrifice and transformation — beauty and violence merging into a single, haunting image.

Together, the three characters serve as psychological portraits. Rather than literal narratives, they offer symbolic windows into internal states: fragility, control, and pain. Face-Off invites viewers to reflect on the masks we wear — and what breaks through them.
