Journey Notes
The following text is dedicated to the adventures of
Leona Penres and David Bae - the chaotic duo of DnD characters. From their
time at the circus through many years of living together as young adults to their
epic current journey.
But don't expect smart decisions from the Idiots!
Backstory
Leona is a young drow at the age of 60. In her earlier days, she walked
the streets of Menzoberranzan as the heiress to the Penres Name.
Though she held that title, her life
was never a happy or safe one.
Everything changed, however, when the circus visited the city. She immediately
fell in love with the acrobats defying gravity, the beautiful colors, and the funny people telling jokes.
One of those funny people was a teenage half-elf by the name of David. The two became fast friends,
sharing stories and introducing each other to their worlds. For the first time in her life, Leona understood
what it meant to be happy.
But the peace didn't last forever. Soon, the circus was
set to leave the city, cruelly taking away the life she had learned to love.
David saw through
her mask of indifference and invited Leona to join the circus —
to leave behind the life she despised.
First Steps to Adulthood
After 15 years, Leona asks David to leave with her.
The Bard,
however, is not ready to go. But things are never as cut-and-dry as a simple goodbye
between these two.
The night Leona plans to start her solo journey, an accident
makes it appear as though the two have killed someone.
David — being too pretty for jail —
hastily packs his bags and joins Leona.
A Home for the Homeless
They finally reached Baldur's Gate after weeks of traveling. David kept voicing complaints
about his terrible sleep.
They would have to earn money for a safe roof over their heads.
Leona spotted a
street musician — or more specifically, the money tossed by the crowd.
David followed her gaze, and a knowing grin formed on his face.
Of Jobs and Scams
That's how they lived for the first few months. Word about them spread through the city like
wildfire, attracting attention from all sorts of people. Sadly, not just the good kind.
With the promise of a stable home, a shady tavern owner lured them in. When it was time to get
paid, the owner instead threatened their lives.
Only, he didn’t calculate that Leona’s
fists hit incredibly hard.
