Those who are, were, or will be in CGI in the 2nd
semester know what I'm going to talk about. I don't
really have any major issues with the modeling so far,
but I must admit that even though the tutorial only
covers up to the finished flaps on the main body, I
continued or
tried to continue with what I've
learned and know in Blender. I've already completed the
main body. However, I gave up on the "lower body" part.
I've already spent two evenings, each lasting 3
hours,
trying to get the 4 holes in.
The hole itself is there, but I'm having trouble
modeling the rim without getting artifacts. Thankfully,
I made backups, so when the tutorial series reaches that
point, I'll probably just start over. Until then, I'll
continue with my own projects as well – to practice. :)
I really love old things, and I love pointing out which
decade they're from. It's like showing off, except it's
not really something to show off about because it's not
your own qualities. Maybe the knowledge of it, but you
can get that from Google in 2 seconds. Anyway! It's not enough for me that the
objects have a certain age. Oh no, they must also be as
broken and dirty as possible. Well, as long as they can
be restored to a functional state. And that's something
I take into my own hands. Restoring cassette players,
typewriters, etc. It's just my thing. However, the
occasional dead cockroaches inside the devices are not.
As the first blog entry, let's start thematically with
the beginnings of my miniature garden. A few days ago, I
spontaneously planted my first aloe vera and cherry
tomatoes, hoping that this time something will come out
of it (Yep, this isn't my first attempt – and yes, it
sounds like I don't have a green thumb at all).
I've been carrying them around the apartment so many
times, trying to catch the sunlight. Mornings in my
room, evenings in the kitchen. But in the end, I bought
a lamp to save myself the hassle. And guess what! Right
after the first evening under the plant light – so
yesterday – the first seedling sprouted overnight!!
I'm super proud of it!
