Wildlife-and-Frogs

Beside my passion for art I like to go outside in the nature and watch wildlife animals (as far i see some). Mostly I enjoy watching amphibians, they are funny and fascinating creatures. I also kept 3 Bombina orientalis (chinese fire-bellied toads) for over 10 years. A few days ago I decided to go for another „herping-tour“ near Herpersdorf. (that name... what a coincidence :D) Why exactly there? Because I have read there is a habitate of the european tree-frog. (Hyla arborea) A frog-species which was very common once, but nowadays it’s so hard to find them. Even though there was a time I went out very often in search of the european tree frog I never found one single specimen. Sadly it stayed that way… I also never heard a single one croak either so far. At least I found a huge amount of Pondfrogs (Rana esculenta) which isn’t very surprising, and thousands of tadpoles either of the Bufo bufo or the Bufo calamita (which seems more logical in june).
