My boyfriend and I took the good ol' Flixbus to Prague. Gotta admit, it wasn't the most glamorous mode of transportation, but hey, it got us there! Now, a few days before our trip, I caught a nasty bug and was desperately hoping for a quick recovery. Well, let me tell you, it was a rollercoaster of a journey. First, it got worse, then miraculously better, and then out of nowhere, I completely lost my voice for a solid two days. But you know what? We still managed to have a blast!
Prague, oh Prague! This city is something else. It's brimming with history and oozes charm from every corner. And let me tell you, I snapped soooo many pictures, my camera nearly cried. From the moment we arrived, we dropped off our stuff at the Airbnb we had booked and immediately hit the streets to explore. We wandered through parks, strolled across picturesque bridges, and soaked in the city's captivating atmosphere.
Oh, here's a highlight! We stumbled upon this incredible Indian restaurant, and oh my goodness, it was a flavor explosion! It was my very first time trying Indian food, and let me tell you, it was mind-blowingly amazing. The aromatic spices, the rich flavors... my boyfriend and I fell head over heels for it!
The next day, we mustered up the energy to conquer the castle in Prague. But before we reached the top, we stumbled upon this mini park with art installations depicting old buildings from the USSR in miniature form. The catch? They were intentionally destroyed. It was such a thought-provoking sight. Eventually, we made it to the castle after climbing what felt like a gazillion steps. And boy, was it worth it! The view was breathtaking, and the castle itself was like something out of a fairytale. We learned so much about Bohemia's rich history and the stories behind the magnificent structure.
After all that walking, we found ourselves at a cozy vegan restaurant, and let me tell you, they served me the biggest ginger tea I've ever seen. It was fiery and spicy, but oh-so-soothing for my poor throat. The next day, we indulged in a classic treat: a scrumptious baumkuchen with a generous dollop of ice cream on top. We strolled through the old city, admiring the stunning architecture and historic churches.
Now, get this, in the evening, we stumbled upon a traditional Czech restaurant that served ALL their dishes in vegan versions. Can you believe it? It was such a cool and unexpected find! We savored every bite, feeling like we were uncovering the city's hidden culinary gems.
On our last day, we decided to wander a bit further and stumbled upon a cool skate park tucked under a bridge. It was a vibrant hub of energy, and we couldn't help but admire the talent of the skaters showing off their moves. To wrap up our Prague adventure, we paid a visit to the National Museum and delved even deeper into the history of Bohemia. It was fascinating to learn about the region's past and gain a deeper understanding of its cultural heritage.
When we finally returned home, we were greeted by my mom and, of course, my furry companion, our family dog. It was such a heartwarming reunion that filled our hearts with joy and a sense of contentment.
